(Warsaw 1.4.2015) Finnair will introduce year-around service between Helsinki and Krakow as of April 2nd, 2015. Krakow has in previous years been served on a seasonal basis from April to October.
The Helsinki - Krakow route will be operated four times a week from April 2 through June 21st and from August 13th through October 23rd, 2015. Flights departing Krakow on Tuesdays and Thursdays will connect to Finnair's long haul flights to Asia, while evening flights on Fridays and Sundays are serving passengers travelling to Helsinki.
During the peak of the summer season, between June 22nd and August 12th, Finnair will add two weekly flights to the route, one on Mondays and one on Wednesdays, raising the weekly total to six.
As of October 24th Finnair will continue its Helsinki - Krakow connection throughout the winter season with three weekly flights, departing Krakow on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
“We recently announced the opening of a daily connection between Helsinki and Gdansk as of May 11th, and are now pleased to introduce year-round service to Krakow, another popular tourist and business destination”, says Jani Peuhkurinen, Finnair's Area Sales Director East Europe and Asia. “As the European airline with most weekly connections to several Asian destinations, we are well positioned to serve a growing demand for leisure and business travel between Poland and Asia as well as Poland and Finland”, Peuhkurinen notes.
The service to Krakow will be operated with Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, except on Wednesdays with Embraer E-190. Flight time will be approximately two hours.
